Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan is a famous American artist and singer. She is also referred to by her most well-known nickname, Queen of Funk. In her career, which has stretched over five decades, she's won a total of ten Grammys. Billboard Magazine has listed her as the 65th most successful dance artist of all time. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was exposed to jazz by her grandmother as a toddler. Early in her career, she was a member of various groups. Later, she joined the group Rufus. At the age of twenty, she released her first album along and the other members of Rufus. The following year, the group received their very first Grammy. The self-titled debut album in the years that followed her solo debut. Through the years she released other albums, including "Echoes of an Era", "The Woman I Am" and a song called "Funk This". In addition to her musical contributions, her charitable work has garnered her a great deal of attention. Chaka Khan Foundation was established to support children living in poverty families as well as those who have autism. Khan is also a frequent actress. She played the role of Sister Carrie on stage in musical "Mama, I Want to Sing.'
